I am in my third week of my last semester at N.M.C.C, and the light at the end of that tunnel is widening. The only course that is standing in my way is Statistics. The course does not seem that difficult at the moment, but it is all new material to me. As you students with families out there know, it is almost imposable to find quiet study time. Although I would not change my situation for any amount of money or power, an evening of attempting to study without my two year old constantly repeating, "DADDY", every other second might change my mind. Of course I would not, but what I have learned over the past few weeks is you need to take time for the family, because life is short. Also when you are in college the ability to using time management wisely is a key ingredient for success. See you all next week.

The Non Traditional Student

Hello, I am a 37 year old Liberal Studies student attending the Northern Maine Community College, in Presque Isle, Maine. Being an older student with a family and a job is no easy task. Juggling home life while being in college has its challenges; one is keeping a healthy marriage, another is finding adequate time for studying and also maintaining quality time with my wife and two year old son. In this blog I will discuss the pros, cons and tribulations of attending college and also to gain some feedback from people out there in similar situations.
